How You Can Help

Volunteer Opportunities….

RMH patient care volunteers provide support and care for our terminally ill patients, of all ages, so they can live life as full and comfortably as possible. An affirmation of life, hospice enables people to live until they die and we equip their families to go on living after they are gone. Volunteers make a remarkable difference in the lives of the patients and their family members at a time when emotional needs are profound.

Companion Care Volunteers provide companionship and support to hospice patients and families in the patient’s home, nursing home or assisted living facility. Other services might include relieving the primary caregiver, running errands, shopping, assist with housekeeping, transportation or help with meal preparation.

Office Volunteers provide administrative support to the hospice staff.  Filing, computer input, assembling information packets, telephone support and reception work are examples of the types of work done by our office volunteers.

Special Events Volunteers assist the RMH with its community programs and events that raise funds and community awareness of hospice care.

Thrift Store Volunteers support the Hospice Thrift Store by helping in the store as inventory processors, cashiers, merchandisers, sorters, stockers and display designers.

Bereavement Volunteers provide companionship and support to family members and friends who have lost a loved one. This is accomplished through home visits and/or telephone contacts depending on the need of the survivor.

MAKE A DONATION AND TOUCH A LIFE….

RMH could not exist without the support of the communities we serve. Helping to provide care for patients and their families at such a critical time in their lives is truly an act of love. Contributions can be made in the form of bequests, memorial gifts and general donations.

All contributions to Russell-Murray Hospice are tax deductible and acknowledged with a receipt to the donor.  A memorial card is sent to the family of the deceased acknowledging the receipt of the gift and the name of the donor.  Please consider supporting Russell-Murray Hospice and become a member of our caring team.
